A Mul-T-Lock cylinder can be removed from most residential deadbolts and levers with standard Phillips and Allen drivers. What happens after removal is where DIY ends. The pinning kits require a follower tool sized to the plug diameter, and the telescoping pins in Interactive+ systems will drop into the housing if the plug is withdrawn without chamber-by-chamber control. Retrieving a dropped telescoping pin from a Mul-T-Lock housing requires disassembling the entire cylinder body, including the sidebar springs.

More critically, incorrect pin placement in a high-security cylinder creates a false sense of security. The lock operates with your new key, but the bitting may leave shear lines exposed to picking or decoding. We check every repinned cylinder against factory tolerances and test with the original key to confirm it no longer operates. If you have already removed the cylinder, bring it to us.
